Illustration lecture.

How do we define illustration?
An strategically created image made for a purpose and deliberately communicates something.
What makes good illustration?
When the aesthetics of the imagery suit the purpose and the point is clearly communicated and universally understood.
What can illustration do?
Communicate an idea in an exciting and engaging way, more immediate and complete than text, and provoke an emotional response of some kind.
