while reading this

https://books.google.co.uk/books?id=QhoGPZzy0YMC&pg=PA33&lpg=PA33&dq=sensational+press+graphics&source=bl&ots=UsLm25qQ4t&sig=_JBLBdLz6gX4dxdwLXbyjYGJKiU&hl=en&sa=X&ved=0CC4Q6AEwAmoVChMIsO_c6IqfyAIVgrIUCh3QiAEo#v=onepage&q=%27sensational%20press%20graphics%27&f=false

I came across the term yellow journalism

I'm now trying to find out what it is and if its useful to me, using this

https://books.google.co.uk/books?id=-_kWbKnrx8AC&pg=PP4&lpg=PP4&dq=yellow+journalism+west+2001&source=bl&ots=NFX9AL-xId&sig=UE-SYwlgbyOjXummPZ1gnGnrgY4&hl=en&sa=X&ved=0CCoQ6AEwAmoVChMIjITf84SwyAIVhZQeCh319Arc#v=onepage&q=yellow%20journalism%20west%202001&f=false

in the end it turned out googling yellow journalism was a much easier way of finding out what it means

Yellow journalism, or the yellow press, is a type of journalism that presents little or no legitimate well-researched news and instead uses eye-catching headlines to sell more newspapers. Techniques may include exaggerations of news events, scandal-mongering, or sensationalism.

i think it definitely is relevent, and i should explore whether people have analysed the use of it in womens trash press
